Members of DKG Maryland attended the DKG Maryland State Convention at the Hyatt Place on Kent Island in April. It was a weekend to “Honor the Past, Celebrate the Present, and Prepare for the Future.” There were 102 attendees. Friday evening provided a Founder’s Presentation, Trivia, and Karaoke. Saturday there was a business meeting, a luncheon, a variety of workshops, and the banquet. Eileen Little, our Northeast Regional Director, attended the convention as our DKG international guest. Sunday morning, our Celebration of Life recognized our sisters who had passed. Recognitions included Scholarships and the Black-Eyed Susan Awards. Our new officers were installed. Congratulations to Janey Snyder, our new President. It was a great weekend and provided an opportunity for many of our sisters to make new friends, renew old friendship, learn, and grow. And WE HAD FUN!! Special thanks to the convention planning committee, led by Terri Showers, and all of the attendees. |
